Rotary Youth Leadership Academy

Rotary Youth Leadership Academy participants Jacob Call, Camryn Tacy and Reid Shaver are recognized for their participation. Topock 66 Scholarships

Topock 66 Foundation scholarship winners are recognized during the Needles Unified School District board of trustees meeting Feb. 17. The four students participated in the Build Your Future Scholarship. Each student could earn up to $2,500 for each year of high school through volunteering, community service and working with a mentor. They will be assigned a mentor to prepare them for a career beyond college. It was a Tri-state scholarship program and Needles High School earned the most representation. Mustang Music Mondays

Scott Goodman, owner of the Circle K on west Broadway, right, hands music teacher Andrew Henken a check for $261.44 to help the Needles Unified School District’s music program afford new band uniforms. Circle K is holding Mustang Music Mondays and will be giving the program half of the proceeds of the soda sales on Mondays. Goodman said he’s happy and lucky to be in Needles where the local businesses support Needles programs and how that’s important for the community. He hopes others can join the effort. Lady Stangs go to State!

Lady Stangs will be playing in the NIAA State Tournament. Their first game is Friday, February 27th at 3:00 PM at Sunrise Mountain High School in Las Vegas, NV.

Mustang Cafe Opens!

The ROP Small Business Applications class has opened the Mustang Café. The café is currently open Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. They're serving a variety of coffee drinks and snacks.
